The ASM National Office sponsors a number of travel awards to enable professional members at all career stages to attend the Annual Scientific Meeting. For details and information on how to apply visit http://theasm.org.au/awards/.
ASM WA Branch also administers travel awards for students and clinical microbiologists, details are outlined below.
GUIDELINES FOR TRAVEL AWARDS APPLICATIONS: APPLICANTS MUST:
1. Be financial members of ASM;
2. Submit an abstract to the conference organization and a copy to the selection sub-committee;
3. Submit a complete application form with all required supporting documents by the due date;
4. Applicants must be available to give a presentation at our Travel Awards Nights in mid April at QEII Medical Centre
It is important that the submitted abstract and summary contain scientific data. Abstracts or works submitted as "proposals" or "work in progress" without hard results data will, except in extreme circumstances, not be of sufficient standard to receive an award. Students are encouraged to discuss submissions with their supervisors as a guide to suitability for these awards. The committee has the option of not awarding a prize in any category.
